"Effect of Intravenous Insulin Therapy on Clinical Outcomes in Critically Ill Patients." American Journal of the Medical Sciences. 333(6):354-361,June 2007. Hafidh, Saad A. MD; Reuter, Matthew D. MD; Chassels, Loren J. MD;Aradhyula, Sangita MD; Bhutto, Saqib S. MD; Alpert, Martin A. MD.

Assisted in a study of the effects of calcium channel blockers on the absorption of lead into nerve cells and the subsequent relationship of these calcium channel blockers to seizure activity in cats. Our goal was to determine if lead enters cells primarily through L-type calcium channels. Performed multiple surgeries on cats, intubated the cats via tracheotomy, anesthetized the animals, placed intracranial EEG electrodes, cannulated mesenteric veins using open abdominal vascular surgery, administered medications, set up and ran a digital EEG through a Pentium II computer, and ran a traditional analog EEG machine for comparison. Assisted in data analysis.
